Occasionally people enter your life and you discover an uncanny bond with them. Whatever the connection – obvious, indecipherable, sometimes no more than a shared acknowledgement of being on the same wavelength– it’s rare, so when it does happen, recognizing that bond is important. In that connection is a bridge to understanding someone else.

Maps Of has long existed in parallel to Paul’s music in some way. Between shared bandmates, showing up to one another’s shows and practicing in the same spaces, we’ve coexisted picking up the same creative energy and the same wavelengths. It’s pretty telling when your band simply wants to record covers of a friend’s music.

These songs are a love letter to that uncanny bond, to our friend and his music. We hope you enjoy. Links to the original versions are below.
